According to ​Psychology Today, one of the most effective ways to reduce anxiety is to control how you react to it. The key to this is identifying what you can and cannot control. If you’re struggling with this, start simple: Break out the yellow legal pad and make a list of pros and cons. Get those thoughts off your chest and write it out. You can start with listing your daily responsibilities, pending assignments, tasks to complete while your new ad campaign is up and running, and so much more.

The point of this exercise is to allow your brain the opportunity to ​focus. There is a clear difference between ruminating and problem solving, and it’s ill-advised to allow your mind to fall into a cycle of unnecessary worry. Once you understand what your realistic options are for the foreseeable future, it will very quickly become so much easier to let go of anxiety. Allow yourself the chance to let go of the stress and focus on the work ahead. You are now ready for what many new business owners consider the most difficult of steps.
