So, You Finally Launched Your Campaign. Now What?

4 min read

No one likes having to wait for results. Not for very long, anyway. Everyone from students, to business owners, to your child waiting ever so impatiently for dessert to be served. Everyone knows what it’s like to play the waiting game. Despite this universal understanding, many working professionals still struggle with accepting the concept in practice. No matter how much you prepare or how far into the future you plan for, every business owner is going to find themselves stuck at this metaphorical crossroad. Once you have launched your ad campaign, you have no choice but to exercise patience as you wait for the results to roll in.

So what happens next?

Accept What Is

You’ve already invested countless hours of time and money researching possible strategies, creating mock plans and assessing what will and will not work for your first digital marketing campaign. Why waste a second longer worrying? From a purely psychological standpoint, your ability to process anxiety is most likely the issue. This is not unusual, but ruminating over potential outcomes will not help you to reach the goals you’ve mapped out for your company.

The next step is acceptance. Trust your marketing team to manage the display campaign on your behalf. Focus on the work. Breathe. This is your time to shine! No matter what happens with the campaign itself, the first weeks will be a constant series of trial and error – which leads to our next suggestion.

The sum of all human wisdom will be contained in these two words: Wait and Hope.

Identify What You Can and Cannot Control

According to Psychology Today, one of the most effective ways to reduce anxiety is to control how you react to it. The key to this is identifying what you can and cannot control. If you’re struggling with this, start simple: Break out the yellow legal pad and make a list of pros and cons. Get those thoughts off your chest and write it out. You can start with listing your daily responsibilities, pending assignments, tasks to complete while your new ad campaign is up and running, and so much more.

The point of this exercise is to allow your brain the opportunity to focus. There is a clear difference between ruminating and problem solving, and it’s ill-advised to allow your mind to fall into a cycle of unnecessary worry. Once you understand what your realistic options are for the foreseeable future, it will very quickly become so much easier to let go of anxiety. Allow yourself the chance to let go of the stress and focus on the work ahead. You are now ready for what many new business owners consider the most difficult of steps.

Trust Your Marketing Team

You hired a team of professionals. You pitched them your business, drafted a new campaign together, and invested in their services to promote your business with. Now what? It really is as simple as the title suggests. No matter how prepared or experienced you might be, there’s no way to guarantee a successful campaign. What we can do is work tirelessly to monitor the insights and statistics on your behalf. This is precisely what we trained for!

A decent marketing team will have your back and monitor the promotional side of your business in a way that effectively reduces any stress that may adversely affect your personal productivity. Regardless of the current state of the economy, fixating on things you cannot control will only limit your potential progress.
